Project 1: My Community, My Commitment
This module introduces us to environmental issues and provides some in-depth understanding of the complexities and interactions that the design and construction professions have to deal with to contain some of the irreversible damage that human settlement causes to the environment. Not only that, it also instills basic ecological literacy and environmental concerns through projects that involves local environment and society.
In this project, we are required to reach out to a environmental-community-based organization to engage in community service that benefits both the community, society and ourselves as well. The project aims for us to understand the current environmental issues of a organization and intends for us to help the organization solve the issue by creating a environmentally sustainable design/product/service.
For our group, we have chose a community of the four legged friend. We believe that aside from humans, animals also possess the right to live as equally as us. Therefore the community we reached out to was Furry Friend Farm. The Farm requested for a play area for its one and only Goat member, Rajoo.
